“Licensing Criteria for Backflow Testers”
The following commentary concerns a Backflow Assembly Tester’s training criteria, along with the test procedures utilized in an area and the impact this can have on local cross connection control programs.

Backflow preventers are required to be tested upon installation and atleast annually thereafter by the local enforcement agency (plumbing inspection department and/orwater purveyor). The Test and Maintenance forms are basically reviewed to ensure assemblies havebeen tested and repaired in accordance with local (state) regulations and manufacturer’s specifications.
